My thoughts on PIQUE and intergracing...
The April 2025 edition of Context, "The Art, Craft and Application of Systemic Questioning", invites psychotherapists to consider their positioning in relation to the questions being asked. John Burnham invited me to reflect on his PIQUE theoretical paper and to bring my own intersectional perspective to the conceptual ideas of appreciation and appropriation, in relation to his theoretical framework.
SENSES
I created the SENSES paradigm as a way of integrating systemic practice with sensory and embodied awareness, thus creating space for therapists to notice, respond to, and reflect on the ways sensory experiences shape relational interactions.
SENSES invites therapists to consider their bodily, sensory experiences (including the senses of smell, taste, touch, and affective energy/vibes). This will involve considering both our own and our clients states of arousal, attunement (or not!) and a whole load more. Click below to find out more...
